I work part-time on weekends at a hotel bar. A few years ago I noticed a small child running around the glass enclosed gas fireplace. I mentioned to the child to be careful of the glass that it would be hot. Well a few moments later, the child put his hands on the glass - so the child screamed and started to cry. The mother ran over and asked me why I wasn't watching her child. I said to her "Madam, I am a bartender, not a babysitter". I happen to mention to a friend of mine about the incident and he said if parents are going to have "pets" (meaning children) they should have them on a leash!
