Bentley=Anomie

The Bentley Flying Spur defies the laws of physics and the bounds of believability, calling into question our elemental assumptions, and engendering anomie. In a good sense. My latest for Road & Track.

City Parking
I wrote a two-part article on cars and architecture, for Road & Track. Learn about the hidden history of the home garage, the development of the D’Humy double-helix ramp system, and how Frank Lloyd Wright and LeCorbusier were influenced by the automobile. And more! Part I Part II

Evolution, Shmevolution

If a population of Hawaiian crickets can evolve to stop chirping, cars should be able to make similarly radical leaps. These 10 batshit outliers certainly did. [Part 5 in my 10-part series for Road & Track.]

I Take Over Road & Track

R&T-Cover-May-2013
I have three articles in the new, re-launch issue of this month’s Road & Track magazine. This makes sense, since I’m now a contributing editor to the magazine. One is a feature story on why today’s youth hate cars, one is a little interview with G.M.’s Chris Webb about why he loves his toothbrush, and one is an even littler series of interviews with Paul Goldberger and Richard Phillips on why they love the Lamborghini Miura. If you care about me at all, you should probably just buy the magazine–it’s on newsstands now. Or if you’re a chintzy bitch, you can just look at the crappy scans below.
